10-6-20   THOUGHTS

If you look into a star lit sky, you will notice that most of the lights twinkle, but that a few do not. The ones that twinkle are sources of light.  Like our sun, they provide their own light.  The ones that do not twinkle are like our moon, they merely reflect the light from a source.  The bible uses LIGHT in some marvelous teaching lessons.  I invite you to find some of them in the passages below.  The metaphor of light is so powerful!  Our thoughts come from God this morning!
Matt 4:16  "THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT, AND THOSE WHO WERE SITTING IN THE LAND AND SHADOW OF DEATH, UPON THEM A LIGHT DAWNED."
Matt 5:14  "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;
Matt 5:16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
John 1:4  In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5  The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 6  There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7  He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. 8  He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. 9  There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.
John 3:19-21    "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.  20  "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  21  "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."
Acts 26:18  to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’
2Cor 4:4  in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
2Tim 1:10  but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
1Pet 2:9  But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
2Pet 1:19  [So] we have the prophetic word [made] more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.
1John 1:5  This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
1John 1:7    but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Rev 21:23  And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp [is] the Lamb.
Rev 22:5  And there will no longer be [any] night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.
My Prayer:
Thank you Oh God for giving us light.  Help us to walk in the light.  Thank you for cleansing.               In Jesus name                      Amen
